Gemma Curran has lived in Mortlake and Barnes for over 12 years. Having grown up in a small town in Buckinghamshire she has always been involved in local groups and events, really taking the initiative from her parents who, in their 70’s, are still heavily involved in the community.
Gemma has been a member of the council since 2010 and is the Chairman of the Planning Committee. She also sits on the Pension Fund Committee and the Standing Advisory Council on Religious Education (SACRE). Gemma is a Governor at Barnes Primary School and also attends meetings with Barnes Community Association and Barnes Town Team.
She has worked in the charity sector and semi-public administrative bodies, but since 2003 has been working in the film industry. Having worked for Paramount Pictures and Warner Bros; she is now the Sales Director for an independent film company, which acquires film rights and produces British movies.
Her hobbies include gardening, cooking (specifically baking), running, cycling, skiing, rugby (watching not playing) and reading. She loves weekends camping, at festivals and spending time with her husband, family and friends.
