Lord True was first elected in 1986 as a Conservative Councillor for Richmond. He has served as Leader of the Council since 2010, having previously served as Deputy Leader from 2002-06 and Leader of the Opposition 2006-10. He also served as private secretary to the Leader of the Opposition in the House of Lords and director of the Opposition Whips’ Office there from 1997 to 2010. At the end of 2010 he was created a life peer. He has been a Trustee of the Richmond Civic Trust, and since 1996 of Sir Harold Hood’s Charitable Trust. He is also on the Heritage of London Trust, the London Archaeological Forum and the The Octagon Trust.
Nick has lived in East Sheen for over thirty years. Formally a Governor of Shene School, St Mary Magdalene's School and Richmond College, he was a founder Trustee of Richmond Civic Endowment Trust and is a trustee of a number of other charitable bodies. His interests include history, art and music. He is married with three children and was appointed a CBE in 1993.
Brian Marcel has lived in East Sheen since 1982 and can frequently be seen training on his bike in Richmond Park. Brian is Lead Scrutiny Member for Adults; Older People's Champion and a member of the Planning and Scrutiny committees. In 1982 he set up a Bar Code Systems Company which became particularly sucessful in Eastern Europe in the retail and the supply chain. He recently set up BCS China to replicate the success in Eastern Europe. Brian also chairs Charlotte Taylor Ltd, a young British designer of haute couture, and Enfuse Youth, a charity providing entrepreneurial skills and mentoring to underprivileged children. Brian is a Magistrate on the Uxbridge, Ealing and Feltham Benches for Adults and Willesden for Family. He loves cycling up mountains, skiing, walking, golf.
