Paul was first elected as a Barnes Councillor in 2006. He has been Strategic Cabinet Member for Schools since 2010. During this time school standards have improved to be the best in the entire country. Over 500 reception year places have been added across the borough, and 6th forms are being introduced in all secondaries where none existed before 2010. Locally, Paul has been involved with various groups including the Barnes Workhouse Fund, the Lego Mutton reserve, and has worked with his fellow councillors to support the Barn Elms Sports Trust.
Christine was first elected in 2002. She is Chair of the Health and Wellbeing Board and sits on the Health Scrutiny Committee and the Planning Committee. She is on the Advisory Committee of the Leg O’Mutton reservoir and a Trustee of the Castelnau Community Project. Christine cares passionately about SEN education and services for our most vulnerable children, and is currently overseeing an expansion and modernisation of SEN facilities, as well as the integration of our Children’s services with Kingston. In Barnes, Christine has also been involved with the Barnes Community Association and Barnes Workhouse Fund in the past. Christine has a son with learning disabilities who lives in a community on a vineyard in Kent and also has two grandchildren. She enjoys both golf and bridge when time allows.
